Cleaning system
Systemate Numafa has developed
a new filtration system, an optional
piece of equipment for industrial
cleaning. The filtration system
consists of a buffer tank in which
a rotating drum filter is placed.
The inner side of this drum filter
has a 40-micron-thick filter cloth.
There are two pumps: one sucks
the water out of the washing tank,
though the drum filter and on
into the buffer; the second pump
returns the filtered water to a
specified location, for instance
back into the washing section.
This system greatly improves the
quality of the water, and yet it does
not need to be refreshed as often
as conventional systems. It has
applications in many industries.

Egg transport system
Giordano Poultry Plast has added
the finishing touches to its Eggs
Cargo system, making it entirely from
plastic. The last plastic accessory,
namely a plastic divider, helps to de-palletise the eggs safely. The system
was displayed for the first time at VIV
Europe 2006. The system comprises:
- a plastic pallet (120 x 90cm) with
closed feet and a pattern of grid and
rims designed to fit the egg trays
- plastic egg trays, each for 30 eggs
- the new plastic
divider (120 x
90cm) suitable
to bear the
weight of the
trays and eggs.

Wireless poultry scales
At VIV Europe, Veit Electronics
won an award for its new wireless
poultry scales. It allows automatic
weighing of birds within the house.
It can be powered from the mains
supply or by batteries and has a
memory of one year (based on
1800 readings/day). It also offers
immediate statistical analysis, a
large graphics display and data can
be downloaded onto a computer.

Feed supplements
Nutri Advance of France is offering
three unusual feed supplements
in Europe. The first is cooked and
extruded linseed with a high level
of ALA omega- 3 fatty acids for
the enrichment of meat and eggs.
The second product is a special
vermiculite (biotite), which is an
effective, natural immuno-stimulant;
finally, guaran – the active component
in guar gum – which can help in
the treatment of obesity in pets.

High-speed inkjet printer
Hitachi has a new range of
high-speed inkjet printers (the
PXR-H series) for small character
printing. One line can print at
1300ft/minute ( 6.6m/second) and
there is an improved print-head
and ink-drop charge/deflection
control. Furthermore, the printers
have a number of other features to
reduce operating costs, for rapid
start-up, for protection against
water and dust and for user-friendly
operation. The optional IJP-RST1
offers Ethernet connectivity.

Liquid manure
removal system
As well as a new company identity
and look, Farmer Automatic also
presented its new liquid manure
recycling system at VIV Europe
2006. The fully automated system
